This program is designed to fix the common issues that cause group classes to fail; mixed abilities, disengagement, not being able to add new students to existing classes and lack of structure. That’s why many studios join after unsuccessful attempts elsewhere.

It can be tempting to start with ukulele because it’s small and easy to hold, but most students do better beginning on guitar. Smaller half or ¾ size guitars are perfect for young learners and open up a much wider world of music—rock, pop, blues, classical, flamenco, jazz, campfire songs and more.

While ukuleles are fun, their songs and styles are quite limited (Hawaiian music and Kermit the Frog songs!) and because they are strung differently the notes and chords don’t transfer to guitar.

Starting on guitar gives students a solid foundation and skills they can keep building on for years to come.

Some studios do 30mins, others do 45mins.

You can make either work, depending on what works best for your studio.

No. Teachers can be onboarded at any time using the included training materials, making it easy to grow your team or cover classes.

4-8 kids - this depends on the space. But you can start with a smaller number while you build up.

In many studios, yes they do. They need to have one at home to practice on anyway. Most kids use 3/4 size, occasionally 1/2 size.

You might consider offering a guitar pack for sale, to make it super easy. It’s useful to have a spare in the studio in case a brand new student hasn't purchased one yet.

It really depends on which age students you have in your studio and can most easily attract to join your group classes.

Your membership includes:

• Tunestars series, 4-7 year olds
• Fretstars series, 7-9 year olds
• Shredstars series. You can use this program for any age group from 9 up. Studios often run separate classes for 9-12, Teens class and Adults using this series.

For younger students, we've suggest offering mini tuning workshops with parents. Suggest a tuning app if they're not keen on a tuner. (the Fender one is free.) Encourage them to  say to their child "I've tuned your guitar, now it's time to practice!"
Older children (when their arms are long enough!) are taught to tune it themselves.
A teacher tuning everyone's guitars for them is ok if there's a small class, but it's not practical and classes get bigger.
