Bring a Friend Week
Oct 01, 2025
How to get new students started NOW!
👻 October is a big month in many studios. It is mid-teaching period, not quite the end of the year, and for lots of us, it is also Halloween. At our studio, that means “Bring a Friend Week.”
It is a fun, community-building event, but it can also be one of the best ways to grow your program if you plan for it.
Why “Bring a Friend” Works
- Kids love to share what they do with friends.
- Parents see it as a low-pressure introduction to lessons.
- Studios get a chance to showcase their learning environment.
The result is excitement, fresh energy in the room, and potential new enrolments.
How to Maximise the Impact
- Make the Welcome Easy
Give visiting friends a clear, simple role in the class. In Group Guitar, multi-level songs mean there is always something a beginner can play, even on their first day. No one is left out. - Celebrate Belonging
Frame the week around community, not competition. Highlight how music works best when everyone has a part to play. - Give Parents a Window In
Share a photo, short video, or class update so families see how inclusive and fun the program is. A friendly touchpoint can make parents more likely to say yes if their child wants to continue. - Offer a Next Step
Don’t let the momentum end at the event. Have a simple way for visiting students to continue: a trial pack, a clear enrolment link, or a special invitation to the next class.
The Benefits Go Beyond New Students
“Bring a Friend” is not just about potential enrolments. It strengthens the experience for current students too:
- They practise leadership by helping friends.
- They feel proud sharing what they have learned.
- They experience music as something social and inclusive.
Why It Matters
October is often seen as “too late” to join lessons, but that is not the case. When classes are designed to meet every student where they are, there is no wrong time to begin. Programs like Group Guitar make it possible for a brand-new student to start playing music right away.
💭 “Bring a Friend Week” is not just a marketing idea. It is a way to build stronger communities, happier families, and fuller studios.
When you sign up for Group Guitar, not only will you receive a program that facilitates teaching groups, but one that comes with many Studio Resources, including a campaign kit to put together your very own "Bring a Friend Week".
